Ontario’s winter brings heavy snow and ice, and we need your assistance to ensure everyone’s safety. Snow-covered propane tank areas and furnace vents are not just an inconvenience—they can lead to serious safety risks for you, your family, and our delivery drivers.
It is not enough to keep your driveway plowed. It is the customer’s responsibility to keep a path to the fuel and propane tanks shovelled and clear of obstructions to ensure driver safety. Failure to do so will jeopardize the timeliness of your delivery and may lead to a runout.
Blocked propane tanks & furnace vents can:
Disrupt gas flow, leading to heating issues, including furnace shutdowns, no-heat situations, and even frozen pipes that can crack and cause basement flooding.
Damage equipment, increasing the risk of leaks.
Cause appliance malfunctions, increasing the risk of carbon monoxide buildup.
Create hazards for drivers, including hidden obstacles under snow.
Take Action Today!
To avoid service interruptions, heating failures, or potential injuries, follow these simple steps:
Gently remove snow from propane tanks and appliance vents (furnace, fireplace, water heater, and dryer) using a soft broom or brush—never use sharp tools.
Avoid shovelling, plowing, or blowing snow against tanks, vent pipes, or exhaust outlets.
Keep vents clear to ensure appliances function properly and to prevent the buildup of dangerous carbon monoxide.
Be careful not to bump tanks or vents with vehicles or snowblowers.
Remove icicles and dripping water to prevent ice buildup.
Ensure your tank and vents remain visible to snowplows operators and our delivery team.
To ensure our driver can safely deliver your propane, please ensure your tank is clear of snow and ice.
If you encounter ice buildup that you cannot remove safely, please call our 24/7 Emergency Line at 807-PROPANE (776-7263) or 705-PROPANE (776-7263) to inform us before your delivery.
