ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

Duties and responsibilities

 

This role will report to the Controller for Sarjeant Propane.

 

  • Process, verify, and reconcile invoices and payments to vendors.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payments and invoices.
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and month-end financial close processes.
  • Prepare and process expense reports and employee reimbursements.
  • Support office operations, including ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence.
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and coordinate travel arrangements.
  • Welcome visitors and answer main office phone lines professionally.
  • Coordinate with other departments for administrative and financial tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in an office administration role.
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and best practices
  • Proficient in accounting software and office applications (MS Office, Excel).

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment testing including drug and alcohol screening and physical.
  • Must possess a valid G class driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle.
  • Reliable commute to or residing in Thunder Bay
