Denis Gauthier

Denis was born and raised in Timmins and graduated from Northern College in 1981 as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Since he could not secure employment due to a serious recession, he decided to pursue a career in Mining. For 10 years, he travelled all over Canada working as a Warehouse & Inventory Control Tech with Detour Gold, Strathcona Minerals, Alamos Gold and The Mining Corporation. He then switched to a career in sales at Total Source, selling machinery and product support for Caterpillar & Volvo, as well as aftermarket parts and services. As Account Manager, he covered Eastern Canada, USA and Ontario. He then returned to the mining industry as purchasing manager for Wesdome Mine and Kirkland Lake Gold, where he spent seven years. Most recently, he was a Territory Sales Rep for Komatsu Canada, covering Northeastern Ontario.

Denis has been married for 33 years, and they have four sons and one daughter, of whom they are very proud. Also, can’t forget his three bulldogs that rule the household! In 2016, Denis and his wife started a successful business, Timmins Janitorial Services, which was a dream of theirs for a few years. They are proud to still operate and service local banks, hydro plants, medical centres, shopping malls, and mines across Northeastern Ontario. Denis isn’t quite as involved anymore, and his wife manages the business, which continues to be successful.
